Description
The goal of all healing environments is to engage patients in the conscious process of self-healing and spiritual growth. Spaces are designed to be nurturing and therapeutic and, most important, to reduce stress. This is a research-based approach to design aimed at eliminating environmental stressors and putting patients in contact with nature in the treatment setting.
Evidence-Based Design is a field of study that emphasizes the importance of using credible data in order to influence the design process. The approach has become popular in Healthcare Architecture to improve patient and staff well-being, patient healing process, stress reduction and safety. Evidence-Based Design is a relatively new field of study which borrows terminology and ideas from several disciplines including Environmental Psychology, Architecture, Neuroscience and Behavioral Economics. Together, we will be going through Evidence Based Design benchmarks, and the challenges we face when it comes to mindful Interior Materials to promote Wellbeing.

Description
If you are designing public buildings ranging from schools, social housing, to art galleries and museums; in the process, the opposite party of your dialogue and communication will be the undertaker of the agency, not the “building user”.
If you design architecture goods such as a residential project for sale or an office for rent; in the process, the opposite party of your dialogue and communication will be the sales company, not the “building user”.
If, from the first day of work to the completion of the building, the distance between an “architectural designer” and the “user of the building” is so “unreachable”, then how to ensure the “architectural design work” will be a suitable finished product?
I, along with many colleagues, have spent my entire life in architectural design, just like Sisyphus in Greek mythology, pushing boulders up the mountain again and again!
I am well aware that this kind of work with “building users” so “out of reach” is likely to be an endless and possibly futile way of working; in terms of “professional achievement in architecture”. This should not be the way “architectural designers” would like to function.
Shifting between thoughts, if the distance with the “building user” is so “out of reach”, it will not be the working method that the “architectural designer” is willing to settle on. I think, together with the people you work with, keeping the needs of “architectural users” in mind, and working hard to complete good architectural projects, that is the salvation of the best “architectural designers”!

We are Water Foundation/ Region of Murcia - Smart Water Smart (collective) Creativity
When: Monday 21 February 2022 @ 07:00 (Eastern US Time)/ 16:00 (Dubai time)
Where: Spanish Pavilion, Expo 2020 Dubai, UAE
Description
AIA International Mexico is excited to be collaborating with We are Water Foundation, Region of Murcia and Unex to host a Smart Water debate at the Spanish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
This conference closes a cycle that, with the title Smartwater Smart (collective) Creativity, has provided a transversal vision from the point of view of the sustainability of the development of tourist destinations and hospitality design projects from the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf regions. Tourism generates a great economic, social and environmental impact, and during the different sessions the creation of a space of common interest has been facilitated from different professional angles (architects, designers, hoteliers, real estate developers, design and equipment companies, textile designer , art studios, etc.) where you can share information, knowledge, experience, visions and, above all, the opportunity to generate new collaborations that give a better response to the challenges that lie ahead as a society.
The seas and oceans play an essential role in the water cycle and the fight against climate change. Their health and quality are crucial to the quality of life, health and challenges that we face as humanity, directly affecting sectors with a significant social, economic and environmental impact such as tourism. The accelerated deterioration of the seas and oceans requires decisive, collective and cross-cutting action, stimulated through new ideas and approaches. It requires a creative collaborative initiative.
This cycle has been made up of 3 days, each one held in a different tourist region:
October 14, 2021 Mexico City - Mexico
February 2, 2022 Cartagena - Spain
February 21, 2022 Dubai - UAE

This lecture will focus upon a 40-year trajectory of work that brings agency to the presence of light, allowing it to reveal the properties and presence of nature within our built environment. At the intersection of art, engineering and architecture, JCDA’s use of materials activates and transforms both private and public spaces with observable qualities of light that define a collective experience of place. Looking at their work in both civic and commercial contexts, James Carpenter will address the increased need for innovative strategies that heighten our collective awareness of light and nature.

Jimenez Lai, Bureau Spectacular
Description
Jimenez Lai was born in Taiwan, came of age in Canada and lives in Los Angeles. He works at Bureau Spectacular. Previously, Lai lived in a desert shelter at Taliesin and resided in a shipping container at Atelier Van Lieshout on the piers of Rotterdam. Lai's work focuses on the relationship between storytelling and architecture. His first book. Citizens of No Place, a graphic novel was published by Princeton Architectural Press. Draft II of this cook has been archived at the New Museum. Bureau Spectacular was a past partici pant of the Chicago Architecture Biennial in 2015 and 2017. Lai has won various awards, including the Architecture League Prize for Young Architects and Debut Award at the Lisbon Triennale, and the 2017 Designer of the Future Award at Art Basel. In 2014, Lai represented Taiwan at the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale. In 2015, Lai organized the Treatise exhibition and publication series at the Graham Foundation. Lai has taught at various universities around the world, including Cornell National University of Singapore, University of Southern California, UCLA, and Columbia Univer sity. Lai's work has been collected by MoMA, SFMOMA, Art Institute of Chicago, and LACMA.
Bureau Spectacular imagines other worlds and engages design through telling stories. Beautiful stories about character development, relation ships, curiosities, and attitudes; absurd stories about impossible realities that invite enticing possibilities. The stories conflate design, representation, theory, criticism, history, and taste into cartoon pages. These cartoon narratives swerve into the physical world through architectur al installations, designed objects, interiors, and architecture.

Description
Introduce the architectural design and Construction Consideration of “Kwan Tzu Sky Court” Social Housing. 28 stories and 4 basement mixed use with 476 units social housing and long-term care center.
Public social housing has always been a factor of Residence Justice, not to mention the importance of changes in a city’s social and economic development.
Taipei City Government has been securing lands from various channels, with a target to build forty-thousand housing units since 2015. Among acquired lands, Kwan-Tzu Po-Ai Welfare campus will house five mixed-use buildings, including Building “C”, 485 dwelling units.
In order to reduce the time frame, the City Government decided to use the “design/build” method to implement the project. Knowing high-density development will restrict the possible open space, the concept of “Vertical Community” was being developed. In the final scheme, various “court” spaces were provided to meet the need of urban design layers.
The close coordination between design and construction aspects is essential to the project. Various engineering methods, including Precast Staircase, Climbing Scaffold System, Aluminum System Formwork, etc. were applied to the construction.
