AIA Latin America: the newest section of AIA International

2023 AIA International Conference participants in Mexico

We are delighted to announce the establishment of AIA Latin America, the newest section of AIA International, making a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering architectural excellence across borders. Encompassing 33 countries and territories, AIA Latin America is propelled by a dynamic team of 12 Country Representatives spanning 10 nations including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Uruguay. Currently boasting approximately 230 members, AIA Latin America is under the leadership of Gustavo Ribeiro as President, Jorge Arditti as Vice-President, and Jose Salinas as Secretary.

In pursuit of our mission to encourage collaboration and innovation within the architectural community, AIA Latin America has organized an array of impactful initiatives. These include the AIA International Conference held in Mexico City in November 2023, alongside significant events like the "Making Connections Brazil-USA" gathering in 2021 and the "CAM-SAM Congress" in the same year. Additionally, our collective efforts have seen Latin American architects actively participating in the AIA International Spring Conference from 2020 to 2024. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the AIA Latin America members meeting scheduled for 2024, where Country Representatives will converge, laying the groundwork for an upcoming AIA Latin America convention aimed at further advancing our shared vision for architectural progress in the region.
