AIA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
FEBRUARY 27 – MARCH 1, 2024
Kimberly N. Dowdell, AIA, NOMAC, AIA President with Yew Kee Cheong, FAIA, MSIA, AIA International President
An amazing four days where component leaders huddled in the Grand Hyatt hotel in Washington DC. Between intentional networking periods, AIA chapter leaders learned to sharpen our leadership skills, heard inspiring keynotes, engaged in best management practice and governance, and connected advocacy outreach with leadership, with a walk up the Hill. Kudos to the AIA team for organizing this outstanding gathering.
AIA International was well represented. Joining me was Lester Korzilius, FAIA, Adam Pantelimon, Int’l Assoc. AIA, with his wife, Olympia, Eric Ho, AIA, and Anna Foden, AIA. This year, AIA International has two candidates running for AIA Elective Offices. Lester is running for 2025-2026 Secretary, while Adam is running for 2025-2027 At-large Director. Both made their candidacy presentations.
In between sessions, I visited James Wright FAIA, Past President, AIA International, at his office of Page Southerland Page, Inc.

Both Anna and Eric were invited to be featured in the Future Focused 2024, a weekly video series highlighting the important work of women and minorities in architecture.
Washington DC in the spring was memorable.
