AIA Japan Update - April 2025

Greetings with Sakura from Japan!

As cherry blossoms reach full bloom, Japan welcomes the arrival of spring and the start of a new fiscal and school year in April. For AIA Japan, 2025 began in January with the appointment of our new President, Balázs Bogner, AIA.

To kick off the year, we hosted a gallery tour of the architectural exhibit “Yasutaka Yoshimura: MANGARCHITECTURE – Absence of an Architect” at Gallery Ma in Tokyo. Event details here.

This tour was part of our regular Gallery Ma visits, where members engage directly with exhibiting architects, fostering insightful discussions and deeper appreciation for contemporary architecture.

Upcoming Event: AIA International in Japan – Azabudai Hills: A New Urban Vision.

April 2025
Event details here.

Azabudai Hills represents a state-of-the-art urban redevelopment in central Tokyo, featuring Japan’s tallest building alongside low-rise, multi-functional commercial spaces. The landscape, envisioned by Heatherwick Studio, integrates seamlessly into a master plan led by Mori Building over decades of meticulous planning.

This event offers a unique opportunity to explore the architecture, landscape, and vibrant urban life of Azabudai Hills in a short yet immersive experience. We look forward to welcoming you!
