The AIA International Conference in Mexico City saw AIA National President Emily Grandstaff-Rice formally announce the creation of three new Sections – AIA Southeast Asia, AIA South Korea and AIA Taipei. Representatives from each Section were on hand to represent their constituents.
With the transition from AIA International Region to AIA International, there is now the opportunity for International to create Sections. A Section is like a Chapter, except that the main administrative load and Core Member Services will still be provided by AIA International.
We welcome the following officers established as part of the Section creation:
AIA South Korea: Kenneth Sungjin Min, President; John Leehong Kim, Vice-President, and Ku Hun Chung, Secretary.
AIA Southeast Asia: Yew Kee Cheong, President; Manon Sora Koestoer; Vice-President, and Cathy Saldana, Secretary.
AIA Taipei: Tzen-Ying (Jenny) Ling, President; Alex Chuang, Vice-President, and Yu-Chieh Chiang, Secretary.
The team for AIA Latin America are finalizing their submission, and we expect them to be announced very soon as AIA International’s fourth Section. Also in progress is a team working in Africa, with an anticipated submission date of Spring 2024.
Congratulations again to the many people involved who made the Sections possible, and we look forward to exciting and stimulating interactions with our new components!
