AIA Hong Kong Update - June 2024

In the past quarter, AIA Hong Kong hosted three impactful programs. Firstly, we organized a seminar in collaboration with HKILA, HKBWS, and IFMA, centered around creating a bird-friendly city. Distinguished panelists, including representatives from The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society and Zaha Hadid Architects, shared valuable insights on implementing measures to mitigate bird collisions with window facades. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of bird safety and conservation in urban environments.

At the AIA Hong Kong Symposium during Build4Asia, presentations by CL3 Architects, URBANUS, and the Oval Partnership demonstrated the seamless integration of aesthetics, functionality, and community with sustainable practices. The symposium set a new standard for future projects in the region, emphasizing the potential for harmonious and environmentally conscious design.

On June 13-15, AIA Hong Kong organized a Sustainability Practice Symposium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, facilitating engaging discussions among architects, real estate investors, and hotel operators. The symposium provided valuable insights into sustainable practices and highlighted the role of architects in contributing to a better and more sustainable future. The event fostered collaboration, idea exchanges, and networking opportunities, strengthening the bonds within the international architectural community.

Looking ahead, AIA Hong Kong is excited to announce the upcoming AIA International Hong Kong Conference, scheduled from October 23-27, 2024. Save the date and join us in Hong Kong for this highly anticipated event.
