2024 Design Award winners with jurors at the awards ceremony.
AIA International held its 2024 Design Awards Ceremony at The Henderson in Hong Kong on 26 October 2024, as part of the AIA International Conference Hong Kong: Architectural Intelligence.
In this 11th year of the awards, the jury recognised submissions across four main categories -Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urban Design and Unbuilt Design. Winning projects were eligible for further recognition for combining exceptional design with sustainability, in the form of the Sustainable Future Award (SFA) developed with our partner Dow. Secondly, we continued the Inclusive Design Excellence Award (IDEA) which honors projects which excel in demonstrating meaningful, inclusive and accessible design that supports all people. Finally, the jury conferred the Firm Award for outstanding architectural practice.
The awards presentation opened with an introduction by the Design Awards program co-chair, Dr Christine Bruckner, FAIA. We were delighted to have jurors Grover Dear, FAIA (Jury Chair) and Illya Azaroff, FAIA there to present the awards on behalf of the jury, which also included Sara Topelson de Grinberg, Hon. FAIA, along with AIA International President, Yew Kee Cheong, FAIA.
To close the ceremony, the Firm Award was presented to Ken Yeang, Hon. FAIA, and we were excited to welcome three past winners of this prestigious award to join him onstage - Moira Moser, FAIA, Ping Jiang, FAIA and Nelson Chen, FAIA.
