President’s Letter

Hello, Everyone!
Welcome to AIA International’s Newsletter for Fall 2023.
The main highlights for Q3 were the successfully executed 2022 Design Awards, and our London 2022 Conference: Transformations in collaboration with AIA UK and AIA Continental Europe. This year, we received the highest number of awards submissions ever, and the quality was of the highest caliber. London was magnificent – superb talks, lectures, and events – and the turnout exceeded our expectations. A huge thank you to everyone at AIA UK and AIA CE who led the organising efforts, especially Etain Fitzpatrick, the committee chair! In addition, AIA Intl hosted a virtual SE Asia 2022 Fall Symposium on Leadership in Design and Practice on September 2, 2022.
The 7 International Chapters have of course been running their own programs and initiatives. Overall, we are seeing ever greater participation and involvement amongst our International membership outside the chapters too – and they have been creating and managing their own events as well. More in-person events are being held and at the same time virtual events continue apace. Most are being recorded and made available for viewing and CES credits on demand – please see our Past Events library for more info.
