Representatives to College of Fellows elections
Following discussions, the College of Fellows has increased the number of AIA International representative positions to three. This is a welcome change for us, with over 400 Fellows and Honorary Fellows spread over our territory.
We are pleased that the College has appointed as one of our representatives Steven Miller, FAIA. Steven is a 55 year AIA veteran, a co-founder of both the International Region and the Middle East Chapter and a Fellow since 2000.
Further, we can now announce that George Kunihiro, FAIA and Sherif Anis, FAIA have been elected to also serve as College of Fellows representatives from January 2022. George is a noted architect / educator, who is a Professor of Architecture at the Kokushikan University in Tokyo, Japan. He served on the National Board of the AIA as International Director in 2013, and as a Member of the Strategic Council in 2014-15. Sherif is a founding member and past president of AIA Middle East, as well as a board member and past Secretary of AIA International, who has practised in the USA, London, and the Gulf.
We are delighted that Steven, George and Sherif will bring their combined experience of international practice to their roles and be the voice of Fellows and Honorary Fellows around the globe!
Finally, we encourage anyone interested in applying for Fellowship or Honorary Fellowship to get in touch. Our Fellowship reps can help with understanding the specific requirements and identify sources of support.
