The final virtual lecture of the year was by Suguru Watanabe and Keiko Onohara of Kengo Kuma and Associates, presenting their recent work “The Kadokawa Culture Museum”. The presentation included a complete walk-through of the process of making the gigantic stone-clad museum, from its conceptual stages to completion. An emphasis was placed in how the exhibition contents have been developed in collaboration with the artists and museum direction team from the early stages of design.
The AIA Japan Chapter has a full program of online lectures; please see the AIA Japan website for details. The chapter is also making many of its events available to view and earn credits on demand; please check out the AIA International Past Events archive.
