The annual AIA UK Bike Tour is a well-attended affair, and this year was no exception. Local designers joined tour leader, architect and historian, Ben O’Looney, for an 8-hour excursion along the Thames to learn about flood mitigation strategies, industrial conservation and new developments along its length. Missed it? Don't worry - you can follow along via the virtual slide show on the AIA UK website.

The UK Chapter's Building Tour series has gone virtual this year, and most recently included talks by David Chipperfield Architects on last year's Design Awards Winner, the Amorepacific Headquarters, local architects AHMM on their recently-completed 1 Finsbury Avenue, and Grimshaw Architects on their award-winning London Bridge Station redevelopment. The talks were recorded and will be made available for on-demand credit.

This year's Design Awards program has been shuffled a fair bit due to the global pandemic and local restrictions on gathering. In lieu of our annual in-person Gala, the chapter will host a Virtual Awards on October 28 to announce and celebrate the 2020 winners. The AIA UK will also reprise the annual AIA / RIBA Keynote Lecture this autumn, with a talk by Francis Kéré on November 3.
