Co-founder, Gbolade Design Studio
RIBAJ Rising Star winner Tara Gbolade is co-founder of award-winning Gbolade Design Studio. The practice specialises in residential and mixed-use developments for public and private sector clients across the country and believe in making ‘everyday places for people extraordinary’. They achieve this through a strong ethos of being; Design-led, Commercially viable, Innovative, and Sustainable.
As experts in strategic place regeneration and creation, the practices’ analytical approach allows each project to respond uniquely to its own context (physical, environmental, and socio-economic); creating places & developments that deliver added-value for their clients; and experiences that enrich, empower, and connect communities. Tara leads the Sustainability strategy for the government-designated Harlow & Gilston Garden Town, setting the direction for the Environmental & Socio-Economic sustainability ambitions of the Garden Town programme; ensuring that high quality sustainable design is embedded in the 23,000 new homes and regeneration of existing communities expected over the next 20+ years.
Tara is also co-developer of the Architects App; a mobile application for Architects, designed to be a resource hub for navigating the critical issues in architecture design and practice; and includes high-level information on how to ‘Run a Project’ and ‘Run a Practice’, and features a resources section including a powerful sustainability hub.
