AIA Southeast Asia - Designing Brain-Healthy Workplaces: A Living Lab Approach in Singapore

Event Description

This presentation investigates the potential of brain health principles in workplace design, aiming to enhance cognitive function, mental well-being, and productivity. The HKS Singapore office serves as a living lab, where an innovative approach to creating brain-healthy environments is being tested and evaluated.

The study, initiated one month ago, is utilizing the HKS Singapore office to explore and test design strategies that align with cognitive science:

  • Living Lab Design: Incorporation of neuro-friendly design elements such as biophilic features, circadian lighting, and restorative spaces tailored for cognitive health.

  • Baseline Data Collection: Initial assessments to gather employee feedback and environmental data related to well-being, stress levels, and workplace satisfaction.

  • Iterative Process: Plans to refine design interventions based on emerging findings and ongoing user engagement.

  • Partnerships: Collaboration with brain health experts, to align the study with evidence-based methodologies.
