Description

In the realm of architecture dedicated to achieving sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this presentation highlights the tropical climate adaptation attributes found in the traditional housing architecture of Southern Vietnam. By distilling lessons and principles from traditional architecture, the speaker will introduce a case study of a contemporary housing design concept, featuring passive design strategies such as ventilation, solar radiation prevention, and natural lighting. These innovative solutions affirm sustainable architectural methodologies that address the unique challenges of hot and humid tropical climates. This approach represents a step forward in the pursuit of building a sustainable society, underpinned by a harmonious fusion of traditional wisdom and contemporary ingenuity, to create ecologically sensitive, climatically adaptable, and culturally resonant housing. It underscores the ability of design to bridge the gap between the past and the future, creating a blueprint for sustainable architectural solutions.
