AIA Hong Kong is excited to welcome Sydney-based architects Tony Chenchow and Stephanie Little to join the next session of our First Projects series when we will continue our conversations about “the construction of a practice” with emerging professionals from the region.
Speaker Bios
Tony Chenchow
Tony Chenchow is a founding partner of Chenchow Little Architects.
He graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of New South Wales with first class honours in 1993. During his studies he won the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Kann Scholarship, the Royal Australian Institute of Architects National Biennale Award, the NSW Chapter Prize and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Prize.
Tony has tutored design students and lectured extensively at the University of NSW, The University of Adelaide, the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University, and has been a juror on many state and national design competitions.
Stephanie Little
Stephanie Little is a founding partner of Chenchow Little Architects.
Stephanie graduated with a degree in Architecture from the University of New South Wales, with honours in 1994. During her studies, she was shortlisted for the Royal Australian Institute of Architects National Biennale Award.
Stephanie was a juror for the NSW Australian Institute of Architects Residential Awards in 2012, the National Houses Awards in 2015, the NSW Australian Institute of Architects Commercial and Interior Architecture Awards in 2016, and the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards in 2018.

Chenchow Little are a studio based architectural firm based in Sydney. The practice is committed to achieving design excellence via a thorough understanding of each client’s needs, the project constraints, and the site. Through their residential work the practice has developed a reputation for the quality of their design and detailing, and the success of these projects has led to select commissions in other sectors.
Chenchow Little have received more than 35 awards for their work including the Australian Institute of Architects National Robin Boyd Award, the highest accolade for residential architecture in Australia; the Australian House of the Year; the National Australian Institute of Architects Eleanor Cullis-Hill Award; and the NSW Australian Institute of Architects Aaron Bolot Award. Chenchow Little were the first firm in Australia to be included in Architecture Record’s International Design Vanguard (USA) in 2010.
Chenchow Little have been recognised by many publications, both local and international, including GA Houses (Japan), GA Project (Japan), Casabella (Italy), Architectural Record (USA), Wallpaper (UK), Architecture Australia, and the Encyclopaedia of Australian Architecture (Cambridge University Press). Their work has also been featured in exhibitions, including Out from Under: Australian Architecture Now sponsored by the American Institute of Architects and Abundant Australia at the 11th International Architecture Biennale, Venice, in 2008.
