Event Description

Architects globally are aware of the climate emergency. What can we do now to measurably improve the buildings we design? The UK Architecture and Engineering professions have responded by setting challenging targets and developing practical guidance for design teams on how to achieve the required performance while taking occupant wellbeing into account. A panel of three speakers representing Architecture, Services Engineering, and Structural Engineering will present on these topics followed by a discussion and a Questions & Answers session.

  • Building services approaches and emerging UK methodologies (performance modelling, TM guidance) presented by Dr Julie Godefroy, CIBSE Technical Manager and author of TM40 Health and Wellbeing

  • Structural strategies for reducing embodied carbon presented by Alex Widdison, Director, AKT II Structures
