AIA IR Singapore - City in Nature: Towards a greener, cleaner and healthier tomorrow
Event Description
This talk explores Singapore’s narrative towards a “City in Nature”, an aspirational goal. The stark challenges of a newly independent nation with a natural resource deficit galvanized the government into working across its agencies and engaging with multi-disciplinary partners in the built environment industry ever since.
Themes of sustainability, water resilience, biophilia and wellness are highlighted. Central is the reimagining of the future and rethinking of spaces and places in the tropics.
The speaker’s interest is at the intersection between the natural environment and built environment, where these thematic attributes are integrated and through selected projects, are woven as exploratory research.
