Ishtiaque ZAHIR Titas is the Co-founder, Architect & Urban Designer of the award-winning firm VITTI, a leading architectural and Urban design practice in Bangladesh, for the past 32 years.
The UK graduate on Computing and Design, focuses on public projects with meaningful impact. Designing sustainability through participatory process and designing public spaces are his key point of interest. He believes that sustainability should be at the core of all development works, and architecture should focus more on research and innovation.
He is the past Vice President of IAB. He has been representing the UIA in UN-Habitat, advocating on urban professional’s interests in the New Urban Agenda (NUA). He made the statement at the UN 7th plenary meeting of Habitat III conference, in Quito as the Co-chair of PCG Professionals World Urban Campaign WUC and GAP. He worked as Policy UNIT expert for Habitat III conference and advisor to the thematic meeting on open space. He contributed to COP, Barcelona declaration and the Dhaka declaration. He is the immediate past 1st Vice president of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the adviser and founding co-director of the UIA SDG Commission. He is the current UIA Representative to WUC.
