AIA Latin America and AIA International are delighted to support BAQ2024, the major architectural event in the Americas this year!
From 18 to 22 November, The Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito, BAQ2024, will bring together over 2,500 participants daily, including prominent professionals and academics from around the world, to discuss and exchange knowledge on contemporary architecture.
This edition, under the theme “CONVERGENCES: Architecture Landscape”, will focus on debating the potential of architecture in the construction of the urban landscape. Throughout the week, the Biennial will serve as a dynamic platform for architects, urban planners, students, and professionals to engage in discussions, keynote lectures, roundtables, and interviews, fostering debate and enriching contemporary architectural practice.
Registrations are now open for the BAQ 2024 Awards, a prestigious platform that celebrates excellence in architectural practices, urbanism, landscape design, and architectural dissemination. The awards offer a representative view of contemporary architectural production across the Americas, with eligible projects built between 2020 and 2024. This year's competition seeks to honor innovative architecture that demonstrates a socially, environmentally, or culturally responsible approach.
The competition is divided into five categories, three of which are open for international participation:
Pan-American Award – Projects built on the American continent.
Habitat Award – Projects built worldwide.
Publications Award – Publications from across the American continent.
All registered projects and publications that meet the criteria will be part of the judging process, featured in the BAQ Week Awards Exhibition, and included in the BAQ Digital Archive.
